youth, but we can build our youth for the future because we are more powerful when we
empower each other”
The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Camp held at Bhonsla Military High School,
Nagpur from 4th November to 7th November 2024. It was an esteemed multi district
leadership development program for more than 120 young individuals, typically aimed at
empowering participants with essential leadership skills hosted by Rotary Club of Nagpur
North, Rotary Club of Nagpur West, Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision & Rotary Club of Khamgaon.
The camp offered a platform for youth to engage in activities designed to enhance teamwork,
communication, problem-solving, and community service for the Interact & Rotaract Club
Students of various schools like KTR High School, Rughwani Boys School Anjuman High School,
Rajkumar Kewalramani High School & Sindhu Mahavidyalaya for age group of 10 to 16 years
& 18 to 21 Years.
Participants at the camp underwent a rigorous yet engaging series of workshops, outdoor
exercises, and group discussions led by experienced mentors, often from diverse fields such
as the military, education, business, and community service. This immersive experience
encouraged participants to develop critical thinking, build confidence, and foster a sense of
responsibility and leadership There were a lot of fun learning and Lifeskills Camp activities like:
First aid, CPR training, Hiking, Jungle trekking, Nature trail, Horse Riding, Bird watching,
Survival skills, Rifle Shooting, Obstacle crossing, Web climbing, Commando net training,
Swimming etc…. The speakers from our Rotary Club of Nagpur North Rtn. Aliakbbar Maimun,
Rtn. Balljeet Kaur Anand gave high level presentation & created a wonderful avenue for the
young visionary minds.
The RYLA Camp at Bhonsla Military High School also emphasized core values like integrity,
teamwork, and dedication to community service. By the end of the camp, attendees typically
emerged with a greater sense of self-awareness and a commitment to contributing positively
to their communities, equipped with the tools to take on leadership roles in the future.
Overall, the RYLA Camp provided young individuals with valuable experiences and insights,
helping shape them into responsible, capable leaders. The camp included the stay of the
campers with delicious and timely food meals and bus transportation. The Parents of the
campers also accompanied them on the evening of 7th November where the prize distribution
ceremony was held with dance performances from the students and the best performing
individuals were applauded with trophy’s & medals and participation certificates were given
to every camper.
