A “good touch, bad touch” session for children was organized on 16th October at Podar International School, Koradi Road, Nagpur. The Chief Guest & Key Note Speaker for the session was PP Rtn. Jyoti Kapoor. The presentation which was focused on teaching them about appropriate and inappropriate physical interactions. The key elements included:
- Definitions: Explaining what constitutes a “good touch” (e.g., hugs from family, high-fives) versus a “bad touch” (e.g., touching that makes them uncomfortable or is secretive).
- Personal Boundaries: Emphasizing the importance of personal space and respecting others’ boundaries.
- Feelings: Helping children recognize their feelings about different types of touches and encouraging them to trust their instincts.
- Empowerment: Teaching children to assertively say “NO” to unwanted touches and to seek help from trusted adults.
- Reporting: Encouraging children to speak up about any inappropriate behaviour, reassuring them that it’s safe to do so
- Role-Playing: Engaging children in role-playing scenarios to practice how to respond in various situations
