Good Touch, Bad Touch Session Organized in Narayana Vidyalaya, Koradi Road

A “good touch, bad touch” session for children was organised on Friday, 20th September
2024, at Narayana Vidyalaya, Koradi Road, Nagpur. The Chief Guest & Key Note Speaker for
the session was PP Rtn. Jyoti Kapoor. The presentation which was focused on teaching them
about appropriate and inappropriate physical interactions. The key elements included:

  1. Definitions: Explaining what constitutes a “good touch” (e.g., hugs from family, high-fives) versus a “bad touch” (e.g., touching that makes them uncomfortable or is secretive).
  2. Personal Boundaries: Emphasizing the importance of personal space and respecting others’ boundaries.
  3. Feelings: Helping children recognize their feelings about different types of touches and encouraging them to trust their instincts.
  4. Empowerment: Teaching children to assertively say “NO” to unwanted touches and to seek help from trusted adults.
  5. Reporting: Encouraging children to speak up about any inappropriate behaviour, reassuring them that it’s safe to do so.
  6. Role-Playing: Engaging children in role-playing scenarios to practice how to respond in various situations.

The goal was to empower children with knowledge and skills to protect themselves and feel confident in communicating their feelings.

Also, as a part of Swachchhata hi Seva Zero Waste Campaign – An Initiative by NMC & Rotary
Club. Kit Handover & Details were imparted to around 100 Students of Narayana Vidyalaya
Koradi Road on 20th September 2024 in the August presence of President Rtn Manisha
Manghani, Past President Rtn Jyoti Kapoor, Principal Smt. Shanti Menon, Teacher Coordinator
Zamzama Firdous, Rtn. Rita Badwaik, Rtn Sumit Choithani Director – Youth Service & New
Generation along with NMC Staff Officials & Students of the school.
